Ahead of the 2019 general elections draws near, the catholic Bishop of Bauchi Diocese Most Rev. Dr. Hilary Nanman Dachelem, CMF has appealed to the Independent Electoral Commission (INEC) not to be corrupt but to be transparent and honest in their dealings with politicians.
He called on them be good umpires and only declare winners that have earned the votes of the electorates and not otherwise.
Bishop who stated recently in Bauchi while fielding questions from journalists, called on the politicians not to split the country by playing bad politics.
He said, politicians should learn when to let go so as not to threaten the corporate existence of the country.
He enjoined them to be compassionate and shun religious bigotry just as they should learn to accept defeat in good faith.
The Prelate frowned at their narcissistic tendencies and urged them to accept their destiny and desist from the “winner takes it all” mentality.
