St. James’ Gombe Commissions 11 More Extra Ordinary Ministers of Holy Communion By Godwin Ogbonna

The Vicar General Administration of Bauchi Diocese, Very Rev. Fr, John Keane (SMA) has urged Christians to be of good behaviour by restraining from judging others.
He gave this injunction during the commissioning of 11 new Extraordinary Ministers of the Holy Eucharist during the 10 O’Clock Mass which held at St. James’ Catholic Church, Gombe on Sunday 3 March, 2019.
Delivering his homily at the occasion, Fr. Keane explained that a good tree does not bear bad fruits.
He, however, noted that the evil that people do produces bad fruits and urged all to seek the truth which will set them free.
While speaking on child abuse in the society, he blamed parents stressing that the dignity and welfare of children is the sole responsibility of parents.
Keane used the opportunity to challenge the Christian community especially the new Eucharistic Ministers to allow Christ to be seen in them in their places of work, business and at home respectively.
He urged them to be sincere and honesty in their dealing stressing that the Lenten season is meant to awaken us from our spiritual slumber.
He reminded all that it is a period of self denial and repentance noting that Christians ought to live a steadfast life which abounds in good works.
The cleric urged both the new and old Extraordinary Ministers of the Holy Eucharist to be role models by showing good example to others so that the name of Christ will be highly exalted.
